For the home owner, it has meant that if they have solar energy system fitted they will received free electricity from their solar energy system, as well have received payments from the energy companies for the solar energy electricity exported to the grid as well as being paid a Feed In Tariff for the solar energy electricity generated by the system. The Feed In Tariff rate will change and will be reduced, however solar energy systems installed before the rate change are set for 25 years.
