Solar Energy - Bloomberg Names BofA Second "Greenest"; Green Living Forum In Toronto - CSR Minute 4/11/12

Visit 3blmedia.com for the latest sustainability and CSR headlines. Bloomberg Markets Magazine has ranked Bank of America as the "second greenest" bank in the world. The ranking measures how much banks are investing and lending to support clean energy, and how they are managing their own power consumption and carbon footprints. B of A earned the number two spot by making a $344 million dollar loan guarantee to Solar City Corp. to provide solar panels on 160000 military-based homes and a $1.4 billion dollar loan to Prologis Inc. for solar systems on warehouse roofs. The bank also gives $3000 dollars to any employee who buys a hybrid vehicle. The Green Living Business Forum opens this weekend in Toronto. Billed as Canada's largest eco-trade show, the event includes over 400 exhibitors and is open to the public. Attendees can also tour the new Green Innovations and Inventions Exhibit, which displays the most promising technological advancements in one interactive display. Advances in solar, wind, energy storage, and energy efficiency technologies will be featured, all of them developed in Ontario.
