PA wind turbine repair Leamy electric..Today i was called to repair a Talon 5kw wind turbine installed by the home owner 4 months ago. Problem, it was not turning anymore. I climb the 40 ft tower and spun the turbine's 6 ft blades by hand to check for voltage output as the manufacture told the customer it was a burned out PMA. I found good voltage but when i spun it i heard a clanging noise inside the nose cone. I came down off the tower and the customer went and got me a lift. This is what i found what was wrong. Nothing to do with the electrical at this point. There is very limited information in the manual for this turbine as well as on youtube and that is why i did the vid to help others that may have this turbine and or problem with a variable pitch blade system like a Talon or possibly a Wind Spot wind turbine. Yes this Talon is made in China.
