The privatization of PUBLIC land and waterfalls for energy projects does not provide good value to the citizens of Ontario. We propose a corporate structure called Community Enterprise for Elecricity Generation as alternative solution. We propose our government start investing in the creation of these Community Enterprises so locals can create jobs and economic benefit from clean energy projects. Community Enterprises will become self sustaining very quickly. Community Enterprises are democratically controlled by local members. Community Enterprises donate surplus revenues for the well-being of communities in the region. The province must prioritize community access to opportunities on public land. This process has been under review for nearly 3 years. If nothing changes corporate developers will develop projects that make huge profits for absentee shareholders.
