solar power companies - PSE&G Plan for Solar Power; Ecopetrol Named to Sustainability Index - Energy Minute 9/24/12

Three oil companies have been named as among the best investment bets in the oil and gas sector by Seeking Alpha, a newsletter for investors. Sanchez Energy Corporation, Enbridge Energy Management, and Chesapeake Granite Wash Trust were singled out for their projected earnings per share growth of over 25 percent during the next year and their low level of accrued debt. Public Service Electric and Gas is proposing a $1 billion plan to extend its program of installing solar panels on homes and businesses throughout New Jersey. The utility's proposal would generate 233 megawatts of new solar capacity by adding grid-connected solar projects built on landfills and brownfields that would supply power to the regional power grid. According to PSE&G's filings, the solar extension would provide power to 21000 homes. Ecopetrol has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index-World for the second consecutive year. Of the 2500 companies trading on stock exchanges and that are part of the DJSI-World, Ecopetrol ranks among the top 10 percent of companies with the best sustainability performance. The rating recognizes the company's commitment to sustainable practices in its business strategy. Ecopetrol is Colombia's largest integrated oil and gas company.
