Solar Energy - GM is First Automaker in Solar Power; Centrica Featured by Carbon Disclosure Project; Global Data Sa




General Motors has been recognized as the top automotive solar power user in the US by the Solar Energy Industries Association. The ranking paces GM at number 13 in the top 20 solar-powered companies in the country. GM has announced plans to double its global solar output to 60 megawatts in the next three years, and to increase its renewable energy use by 125 megawatts by 2020. Centrica has been recognized by the Carbon Disclosure Project for its approach to the disclosure of climate change information. The company is featured in CDP's Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index for the fourth consecutive year, with a score that indicates good internal data management and understanding of climate change issues affecting the company. Centrica is an integrated energy company operating in the UK and the US Global Data, a nature resource research company, reports that global oil and gas capital expenditures will top trillion in 2012. This amount tops last year's 16 billion, a 13 percent increase. More than 242 fossil fuel discoveries were reported last year, driving investor confidence in oil and natural gas futures.
