The growth rate and supply volume of new energy and the investment has ranked among the highest in the world. Before the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Convention in Copenhagen, Denmark China set the goal that the ratio of non-fossil fuels would increase from seven percent [7%] in 2005 to 15% by 2020. That ratio was only a one-fold increase. Due to the continued rapid growth of the total volume of energy consumption the actual supply volume of new and renewable energy in 2020 will be four to five [4 - 5 times] of 2005. The total supply volume will surpass 0.7 billion tons of coal equivalent. The large volumes require ever increasing larger scale development of nuclear, solar, wind, and hydroelectric power.
