The 10-megawatt (AC) Adelanto Solar Power Project is LADWP's first utility-scale solar power plant and the nation's largest solar installation built and owned by a municipal utility. The plant is expected to produce an average of 20000 megawatt-hours of power annually for the next 25 years—enough to meet the typical energy needs of about 3300 homes and avoid 12800 metric tons of CO2 emissions each year.
