home wind generator - Nature's Electric Announces a New Process Where Texas Wind Farms can Double Their Income

Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 21, 2007

Nature's Electric Inc. of Houston, Texas has announced it is offering technology licenses and design services to double the income that West Texas Wind Farms receive from their power off-taker. Mr. Alex Obraztsov, Nature's Electric's VP of Business Development, says "the new technology can be applied to all wind farms throughout the world, but those farms with fixed long term PPA's may not be able to take advantage of the difference in income from day and night production". He said, "the process involves storage of the energy from night production and selling the electricity during the high priced, on-peak, daytime hours". Mr. Obraztsov states "the incomes can be even greater on special days, such as the hot summer day of July 17, 2006. In this one example, if you could have stored the wind energy, which blew between 2 AM and 4 AM, then sold it between 11 AM and 1 PM, you would have gained 6.5 times the income. There are losses in the Nature's Electric storage system, but we are told they are far less than other energy storage systems."

In West Texas, as in many other hot onshore locations, the wind blows strongest during the middle of the night. The problem is the demand for electricity is low during this period; therefore the price offered for electricity is low. During the middle of the hot sunny daytime hours, home and business air conditioners use a very large amount of electricity driving up the daytime or on-peak electrical costs. This problem exists elsewhere in the nation and throughout the world, but is of particular interest in Texas. Nature's Electric's storage system solves the production timing and availability issues involved in wind energy production.

Up until 2006, California was the state leading the way in wind-produced electricity. But a sudden spurt in large wind turbine installations since the turn of the century has turned this around. Texas now leads the nation with the most electricity produced from wind energy. This is very interesting as our focus changes towards concerns over global warming. Wind generated electricity does not burn any coal, oil or natural gas which causes air pollution. It also relieves our dependence on foreign natural gas. Mr. Obraztsov was quick to point out that the Nature's Electric Energy Storage System does not generate any air pollution either. In fact, he says to the contrary, their system produces an energy storage medium, which itself can help reduce our dependence on foreign energy and can even provide a fuel used in transportation vehicles. The reduction of carbon and nitrogen emissions, combined with an increase in income and a new fuel source, make this new technology sound like a perfect solution for our future.
