Kennewick, WA (PRWEB) November 25, 2008
Infinia Corporation today hosted Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and other Washington business leaders to discuss clean energy technologies and the creation of new jobs in uncertain economic times. Senator Maria Cantwell was instrumental in ensuring the extension of the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) for solar investments through 2016.
"Infinia and other companies in Washington state are leading the way toward moving our country toward a clean energy future," said Cantwell. "Not only are they creating investments in clean energy technologies critical to the energy future of the U.S., but they are also creating jobs that are critical to the well being of U.S. families. I applaud their efforts and am glad to provide important policy support in Washington, DC to ensure innovation continues."
The ITC will help spur the growth and adoption of solar energy technologies by directing $232 billion into clean energy investments and creating nearly half-a-million clean technology jobs during the next eight years.
"Recently, Senator Cantwell led the effort in Washington, DC to secure an eight-year extension of the solar ITC. This provides Infinia and other players in the solar industry with the type of stable, long term policy support needed to help drive substantial growth in this industry," said J.D. Sitton, president and CEO of Infinia. "We were honored to host Senator Cantwell and to engage with participating Washington business leaders regarding opportunities to create dramatic and sustainable economic development and job growth in this region using clean energy technologies."
