Green Building Science Certification, LLC (GBSC) announced the appointment of Ben Sutterfield, Co-founder of Green Building Science Certification, LLC, to Director, Field Operations in an effort to staff SCG Energy 's national weatherization division.

Ben Sutterfield is a nationally recognized expert in green building science and provides a range of certification courses, including Building Analyst, Envelope Professional, and BPI for HERS Raters at GBSC. Accredited by the Building Performance Institute, he equips individuals and construction industry professionals with the skills and proficiency to perform energy audits and high quality weatherization and retrofit services.

SCG Energy is expanding national operations to produce energy from renewable sources such as geothermal energy, wind energy, solar energy and hydropower in addition to offering the newest lighting technology, Magnetic Induction lighting for residential and commercial, and fast growing, renewable tree farming. Sutterfield expects to provide training and job placement for SCG Energy weatherization crews in 25 cities by May of 2011, and expand into 50 more cities by December of 2012.
