Solar Electricity - Solar Electricity, Emory, Va

Kathy and Rees Shearer have installed solar electric collection panels to power their home in Emory, Virginia, The panels are manufactured in Memphis, Tennessee in a factory of the Sharp electronics corporation: www.sharpusa.com The system is simple and direct. There is no battery storage and whatever excess electricity they produce is fed into the local power company and is credited to them on their bill for whatever power they need from the company. It is a very efficient system where micro-inverters collect the optimum power that each individual panel produces. For information on micro-inverters, see: en.wikipedia.org At one point, Rees talks about a less efficient installation where you "gang inverters together." Though probably most viewers understand from the previous explanation, he meant to say it's less effective to gang several "panels" together with one inverter. The most efficient system, which he has here, is one separate micro-inverter per panel.
