groSolar , a national leader in solar power distribution and installation, today announced a new relationship with SOLON Corporation , a leading North American photovoltaic manufacturer. SOLON's products and information will be on display in the groSolar booth at the upcoming Renewable Energy World Expo in Austin, Texas on February 23.
groSolar will be distributing and installing American-made SOLON modules that are produced in SOLON's Tucson, Arizona factory, which currently has approximately 100 megawatts of annual production capacity. SOLON's modules qualify for the "Buy American" provisions of the federal stimulus package known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act or ARRA.
"We are pleased to bring SOLON's modules to the US market, for our own residential and commercial installations, as well as through our nationwide network of dealers,” said groSolar CEO Jeff Wolfe. "SOLON is known for high quality products and we look forward to growing the solar market in the US while also helping to create US manufacturing jobs by using the made-in-America SOLON modules.”
groSolar will begin distributing SOLON's PV-modules to its nationwide network of dealer-installers in April, and will be installing SOLON modules on select projects throughout the nation.
"SOLON Corporation partners with many of the best companies in the industry to bring our premium solar technology to the US market, and our partnership with groSolar demonstrates this continued emphasis,” said Dan Alcombright, Regional Vice President and General Manager of North America for SOLON. "SOLON leverages our two decades of global expertise and experience to now produce American-made modules, bringing more jobs to the US solar industry.”
