Toyota's Ideas for Good asked consumers to repurpose Toyota technology to make the world a better place. Using a solar panel to improve the air quality inside a hut where an open fire is used for cooking was the winning idea for the Solar Power Ventilation System. Toyota has given Carnegie Mellon researchers and students the technology to further develop this innovation, which could save the lives of thousands of people with respiratory illnesses caused by indoor cooking.
